Will the toilet stay working during the refit?
Almost always, yes: the WC is the last thing out and first thing back each day. Single-bathroom houses are planned around keeping a usable toilet overnight.
Do I need to buy the suite and tiles myself?
Either way works: supply-only fitting, full supply-and-fit at trade prices, or a mix. The quote shows supply and labour as separate lines so you can compare.
Can a big project be phased?
Yes: main bathroom first, en-suite later, or wet works then finishing. Phased costing is standard practice.
